Why it stands out
Every number belongs to both a row and a column decision.
Sumplete couples every local choice across two constraints. Removing a number may fix its row while making its column impossible, so the whole grid must be reasoned about as one system.
Best for
- Logic players who like arithmetic constraints shared across a full grid.
- Solvers who want a choice between a shorter 5x5 and a denser 7x7 daily board.
Think twice if
- Players looking for typed equations, limited guesses or positional color feedback.
Sumplete begins with all values visible. The task is to remove the right values so every horizontal and vertical total matches its clue. Clicking once crosses a value out; clicking again marks it as kept. Because each cell contributes to two totals, a locally attractive deletion can create a contradiction elsewhere.
The official site currently offers daily 5x5 and 7x7 boards, an unlimited mode, Undo and Clear controls, and an archive. The smaller board is the lower-commitment entry point; the larger board creates more coupled constraints rather than merely adding more arithmetic.
How to play
- Read the target shown beside each row and below each column.
- Click a value once to cross it out or twice to circle and keep it.
- Continue until the remaining values satisfy every row and column target, using Undo or Clear when needed.
