Why it stands out

The real puzzle begins after you spot a valid trio.

Quigly separates a locally correct move from a globally useful one. Finding any valid trio is not enough: the remaining nine cards still need to divide cleanly, so the player must judge whether an apparently correct group preserves a route through the whole board.

Best for

  • Players who enjoy Set-style feature matching with an added whole-board planning problem.
  • Logic solvers who like recovering from a tempting move and finding a safer partition.

Think twice if

  • Players who expect every individually valid trio to be a safe move.
  • Players who dislike ranked time penalties, limited undos, or hint-marked results.

Quigly uses four familiar Set-style properties: shape, color, number, and fill. A trio is valid only when each property is either identical across all three cards or different across all three. A two-and-one split on even one property breaks the group.

The whole-board objective changes how that rule feels. The twelve cards must be cleared as four trios, and a valid first choice can leave nine cards that no longer partition cleanly. Three undos provide a recovery budget, but ranked play still distinguishes a direct solution from one reached by trial and rollback. Incorrect selections add twenty seconds, while using the daily hint marks the result.

A flawless solve—no mistakes, undos, or hint—is labeled a Clean Sweep. The creator describes a weekly difficulty rhythm that starts gently on Monday and builds toward Sunday, rather than one fixed level for every board. That makes Quigly a better fit for players interested in preserving future options than for someone who only wants to identify isolated valid sets.

How to play

  1. Inspect the twelve cards and compare their shape, color, number, and fill.
  2. Choose three cards whose value for every feature is all the same or all different.
  3. Clear the board in four trios, using the limited undos if a valid trio creates a dead end.
