Verified round model

How a round of WordTwiq works.

Objective, input, feedback and stopping condition checked 30 September 2026.

Objective

Find both hidden five-letter words, which differ from each other at exactly one position.

Your move

Type or tap a five-letter word and submit it with Enter.

What changes

Every accepted guess receives an independent letter pattern for each hidden word, and the keyboard retains both clue states.

Round end

The round ends when both twins are found or all seven shared guesses have been used.

Why it stands out

Let one solved twin turn the other into a one-letter substitution.

Two answer boards make each guess do double work. Solving either word changes the task from open vocabulary search to a one-position substitution, but the seven-guess pool is shared across both answers.

Best for

  • Wordle players who want one guess to produce information about two answers.
  • Solvers who enjoy converting a found word into a constrained letter substitution.

Think twice if

  • Players who prefer one feedback board or do not want a shared guess budget.

One guess, two clue patterns

WordTwiq hides two five-letter words. Four positions match exactly and one position changes. They are not anagrams: the shared letters stay in the same places. Each accepted guess appears on both boards and receives separate right-place, other-place and absent feedback for each answer.

In the checked puzzle, RAISE placed R and S elsewhere in both words while A, I and E were absent or extra copies. The guess counter then advanced from one to two of seven. Even when the two patterns happen to agree, one guess has tested both targets without spending separate attempts.

Turn the first answer into a constraint

Early guesses should cover useful letters while respecting that the budget is shared. Once one word is found, stop treating the second as a fresh five-letter search. Keep the solved word’s four shared positions and test alternatives only at the position that must differ.

The on-screen keyboard retains clue information for both words with separate left and right indicators. Before reusing a letter, check whether its status differs between the two boards; a letter excluded from one answer can still be useful in the other.

About the creator

WordTwiq was created by DFrankieJ under DFRANKIEJ PRODUCTIONS. In the submission, the creator said the game was developed with assistance from GPT 6 Astra in Codex; that production detail is the creator’s account, not an independently verified development history.

Daily and archive access

The daily board and playable tutorial required no account or payment. The creator states that the shared pair resets at midnight UTC. An Archive control, statistics and leaderboard were visible, although archive depth, score sharing and mobile interaction were not tested. The site sends X-Frame-Options: DENY, so Daily Game Index opens the official game rather than embedding it.

Thirdle also spreads guesses across multiple answers, but its three words intersect. Twixtle uses four relation types to build a word path instead of holding four positions constant.

How to play

  1. Enter any accepted five-letter word as one of seven shared guesses.
  2. Read the separate right-place, other-place and absent feedback shown for Word One and Word Two.
  3. Identify one hidden word, then keep the four matching positions and change the one position that differs.
  4. Find both words before the shared seven-guess limit is reached.

Before you play

Questions before you play.

How are the two WordTwiq answers related?
Both are five-letter words with four letters in the same positions. Exactly one position contains a different letter.
Do guesses count separately for each word?
No. You have seven shared guesses, and every accepted guess produces feedback for both hidden words.
Are the twin words anagrams?
No. The four matching letters stay in the same positions; only one position changes.
Can you play older WordTwiq puzzles?
An Archive control was available on the checked daily board. This review did not test how far the archive extends.

Source ledger

The evidence behind this page.

The official introduction, daily board and dual feedback were checked anonymously on September 30, 2026. RAISE was submitted successfully and returned two distinct clue patterns; the puzzle was not completed and mobile play was not tested.
