The cross layout is not cosmetic. Thirdle’s purple state means a letter belongs in a different answer, creating evidence that crosses from one row into another before the exact position is known.
A normal daily puzzle begins with two correct letters and allows six attempts. Bonus daily and unlimited modes are visible in the official menu, but this guide describes the primary normal-daily loop.
How to play
- Read the three-word cross-shaped grid and use the two green starting letters as anchors.
- Enter a five-letter guess for the active row and submit it as one of six attempts.
- Use green, orange, purple, and black feedback to place letters in the current word or one of the other crossing words.
