Thirdle

Word & LogicDailyAbout 5–8 minutes

Solve three intersecting five-letter words as a miniature crossword in six attempts, starting with two fixed letters and interpreting four kinds of tile feedback.

The official game is loaded above. If it does not respond, open the publisher’s site in a new tab.

Why it stands out

Three crossing answers make every colored tile travel farther.

Thirdle earns its extra complexity by connecting the three answers. Purple feedback carries information across the grid, so progress on one word can unlock a different row rather than staying isolated.

Best for

  • Word-game regulars who want a denser deduction problem than one isolated answer.
  • Players who enjoy using crossing constraints to rescue a difficult word.

Think twice if

  • Anyone seeking a quick one-board puzzle with only three feedback colors.

The cross layout is not cosmetic. Thirdle’s purple state means a letter belongs in a different answer, creating evidence that crosses from one row into another before the exact position is known.

A normal daily puzzle begins with two correct letters and allows six attempts. Bonus daily and unlimited modes are visible in the official menu, but this guide describes the primary normal-daily loop.

How to play

  1. Read the three-word cross-shaped grid and use the two green starting letters as anchors.
  2. Enter a five-letter guess for the active row and submit it as one of six attempts.
  3. Use green, orange, purple, and black feedback to place letters in the current word or one of the other crossing words.
