Why it stands out

A word puzzle that asks the eye before the dictionary.

Glyph changes the material of a word puzzle. Instead of starting from definitions or letter positions, it asks you to separate a visual knot into plausible characters.

Best for

  • Visual thinkers who want a word puzzle that begins with shape rather than clue text.
  • Players who enjoy using partial evidence and ruling out letters across attempts.

Think twice if

  • Players who find stylized or overlapping letterforms difficult to distinguish.

Glyph begins with an image that is also the puzzle. Every letter in the answer has been stacked into one mark, leaving the player to identify shared bars, diagonals, bowls, and stems before proposing a word.

The official game adds useful reasoning tools without giving away the whole answer. Letters can be dimmed on the keyboard, one decoder key is available per attempt, and past Glyphs can be reopened. An account is offered for syncing history, not as a gate to today’s board.

How to play

  1. Study the daily glyph and look for strokes that could belong to several overlapping letters.
  2. Enter a dictionary-valid word between two and seven letters, then decode to test it.
  3. Use the limited decoder key if needed, or mark letters on the on-screen keyboard while narrowing the word.
